That’s not all; Paul worked in private industry for Mobil Oil Company and GTE
Mobil Communications. Paul’s leadership experience also extends to high levels

on the personal staff of a member of Congress for a year.

In 1986 while in employed with Mobil Oil Company, Paul attended his very

Because of his unique background and gifts as a speaker, Paul Lawrence Vann
was hired to deliver motivational programs in support of a 12-city association
sponsored speaking tour. Paul is the author of the highly acclaimed book, Living
on Higher Ground: How to live with passion, motivation, and joy.
Paul graduated with honors from Shaw University and was a distinguished
graduate of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). This highly
decorated military officer received his commission as a second lieutenant in the
United States Air Force and served over 20 years of duty and retired in the rank
of lieutenant colonel. He has two master degrees with a concentration in
business administration and acquisitions.
