Toni Wortherly
Profile
Toni L. Wortherly began acting, public speaking and singing in high school.
She had formal theatre training during her first year of college. Then, she set
her sights on a more practical career and attended law school at The Florida
State University College of Law. Toni graduated with honors and passed the bar
in September 2003. She opened her own law firm practicing entertainment law and
family law, and began substitute teaching, so that she could continue to pursue
her passion for the arts.
Toni has performed the National Anthem for FSU Baseball, the Tallahassee
Thunder and the Jacksonville Suns and has recently appeared in A Black Nativity,
Mama I Want to Sing, A … My Name is Alice (Pelican Award – Best Production) and
The Goodbye Girl (Pelican Award Nominee – Best Actress) and Showboat.
Though she had already penned over 50 songs and poems, in 2004, Toni was led
by God to use her talents and education to write a book. The book, Pray While
You’re Prey, is a testimony about what God has taught her concerning
relationships, especially, the most important relationship in life, the one with
Christ. In later 2004, God shifted her focus from a passion for the arts to a
passion for using the arts in lay ministry.
In February 2005, Artistic Esquire Publishing, LLC (AEP) released Pray While
You’re Prey at an event call “How to Find Your True Soulmate.” Toni was the
featured speaker, and a DVD was created from the program to aid singles
ministries and Sunday school classes in teaching about God’s desires for
relationships.
Since then, Toni has been the featured speaker at AEP and Eclectic Elements’
program “Spring Cleaning: It’s Not a Chore, It’s a Challenge!” and has been
invited to speak at: the University of North Florida InterVarsity Christian
Fellowship (Valentine’s Day), Isle of Faith United Methodist Women’s Meeting
(Mother’s Day), St. Andrew Methodist Church in Abaco Island Bahamas (Mission
Team Guest Speaker), Operation: Desperation – A Fight o Get Closer to God, and
Rejuvenating Mind, Body and Spirit (Women’s Retreat). She has also been a guest
on the Richard Cuff Weekend Report, a radio broadcast on Gospel 1400. As she
learns, she continues to share through articles in the e-newsletter, The
Difference, and speaking events.
The common thread in Toni’s ministry is that everything relates to the
lessons she learns about the relationship that Christ desires with His people.
Her goal is to bring God glory by encouraging, inspiring, reaching, and
teaching, as God leads.
